Akisano - Pants

In Marrakech, the resilience of the working people I encountered served as a profound source of inspiration. Their daily struggles and strength motivated me to create a piece of clothing that transcended the boundaries of traditional garments. I aimed to encapsulate not just a mere article of clothing but a representation of an often-overlooked facet of Marrakech's culture.

Coming from a background in painting, I found an immediate connection with the blue-collar workers in this vibrant city. To infuse this connection into my creation, I collaborated with a local Marrakech painter to add authenticity to jeans. This collaboration became the heart and soul of the garment.

But this piece goes beyond mere aesthetics. It delves into my personal journey over the past two years of travel. Within the fabric of these jeans, I've etched my thoughts and reflections in real-time, creating a unique narrative that is woven into the very fibers of the "Traveling Pants." The name itself pays homage to the transformative power of travel and carries a subtle nod to the beloved movie reference.
